ROCHESTER, N.Y. (January 30, 2013) – The Empire 8 Conference announced its President's List for the fall semester, and 80 student-athletes from Stevens Institute of Technology were recognized for their excellence in the classroom. Also, 19 of the 26 athletics teams at Stevens earned All-Academic Team honors.

In order for a student-athlete to be eligible for the President's List, they must participate in a conference-sponsored sport and maintain a 3.75 or higher grade-point average. In addition, the student-athlete must display positive contact on and off campus and be enrolled full-time at the member institution. The conference states, “Its commitment to serve the educational needs of its student-athletes is the hallmark of the Empire 8.”

Overall, the Empire 8 honored 673 student-athletes throughout the nine full-time member institutions and seven affiliate schools with President's List distinction.

As a department, Stevens boasted the most teams throughout the conference on the Empire 8 All-Academic Team. A squad meets the requirements with a cumulative 3.2 GPA or higher for the fall semester, and in total, 87 teams were acknowledged.

The nine full-time E8 members sponsored a total of 4,515 student-athletes who combined for a conference wide fall semester grade point average of 3.119.
