Clarkson gained possession to start the game but quickly gave it away on a foul and offside call, which Stevens took advantage of just minutes later as Pryor got onto Rupp's swinging cross to head it in for the 1-0 lead.
Stevens kept the pressure on and broke through again as Mikula found Dunbar up the left side for an opposite-post strike to make it 2-0. Mikula added his own strike just minutes before halftime, slotting home a pass from Kane to give the Ducks the three-goal advantage at the break. Senior goalkeeper
Paul Killian (Ellicott City, Md.) was not tested once in the half as the Stevens defense locked down Clarkson.
Cellitti nearly got on the board in the 52
nd minute, forcing a save by freshman goalkeeper Alex White (Unadilla, N.Y.) on the first shot of the half, but converted his next opportunity six minutes later to put Stevens up 4-0.
The Ducks defense continued to stifle the Golden Knights throughout the half, and Sturla added another insurance goal when he took a pass from Stecyk and blasted it straightaway into the net from 20 yards. Although Clarkson would finally tally a pair of shots on goal against substitute senior goalkeeper
Kyle DeKlerk (Worcester, Mass.), Stevens held on to post the first shutout of the season.
