ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 25, 2014) – Sophomore
Joshua Lefeber of the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Champion Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team was named the Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet and the Empire 8 Swimmer of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Lefeber won three individual events – all in NCAA B-cut times – and was part of four relays that met the B-cut qualifying time to help the Ducks earn the team championship for the third time in five years and second-straight.
He earned a win in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:52.34, carded a 4:03.22 in the 400-IM and clocked a 57.39 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Lefeber was a member of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay (3:01.49), the school- and conference-record setting 200-free relay (1:21.98), the third place 200-medley relay (1:32.25) and the third place 400-medley relay (3:23.05).
Lefeber and the rest of the Ducks will now await the official NCAA Championship psych sheets which will be released later this week.
