ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 25, 2014) – Junior
Brittany Geyer of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team was honored as the Outstanding Female Swimmer of the Meet of the Empire 8 Championships and co-Empire 8 Swimmer of the Week, it was announced Monday night.
Geyer led the Ducks to a second-place team finish overall as Stevens earned the most swimming points at the UNYSCSA/Empire 8 Swimming and Diving Championships.
Geyer won two individual events in NCAA B-cut time during four-day meet. She won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.99) on Friday night followed by a win in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:19.72) on Saturday. Earlier in the week she finished second in the 400 individual-medley (4:33.58) with a B-cut and was part of a winning relay – the 400-medley (3:54.14).
The junior standout and the rest of the Ducks will now await the release of the NCAA psyche sheets later this week to find out which team members will compete at the 2014 NCAA Championships.
