HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 9, 2016) – Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling senior Pete Andrich pinned his opponent in 3:36 Wednesday at 285, sealing a 21-20 win for the No. 5 Ducks over TCNJ in Hoboken.

Losses by major and fall at 184 and 197 put Stevens in a 20-15 hole heading into the final match of the night, where Andirch delivered in a big way with the fall to give the Ducks the win over their inter-state rival.

The win moved Stevens' dual record to 1-0 on the young season.

TCNJ opened the match with an 8-5 decision victory at 125, but freshman Troy Stanich delivered the equalizer with an 11-4 win at 133 to tie the match at three. Stanich's opponent James Goldschmidt is currently ranked just outside the top-10 nationally at the class.

Both teams traded decision victories at 141 and 149 to re-tie the match at six, before sophomore Thomas Poklikuha delivered a major at 157 to give Stevens its first lead of the night. Senior Colin Navickas followed with a technical fall at 165, but the Lions answered with a major at 174 to inch to within 15-10.

A major loss at 184 cut the Stevens even further to 15-14 before TCNJ moved back in front with a pin at 197, but Andrich's knock-out blow at 285 erased the deficit.

The Ducks will be back in action Saturday at the Roger Williams Invitational.
