Adams, Canciani, Vogel Notch Wins At West Point Tune-Up

West Point, N.Y. – Kaitlyn Adams, Allie Canciani, and Isabel Vogel tallied victories as the Stevens Institute of Technology closed out the regular season at the West Point Tune-Up on Saturday.

There was no team score at the event, which saw Stevens compete against the Army, Vassar, and Merchant Marine Academy, amongst others.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Adams delivered an outstanding performance in the 1,000-meter race, securing first place with a time of 3:16.22. Vogel also claimed gold in the 400-meter, finishing in 1:01.87. Canciani showcased her versatility, winning the high jump with a mark of 1.55m and finishing fifth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:21.69. Anya Sadowski added to the team's podium finishes with a third-place result in the 400-meter, clocking in at 1:02.46.

In the middle-distance events, Gianna Adamo took third place in the 1,000-meter race with a time of 3:45.04, while Nina Burden placed fourth in the 800-meter, finishing in 2:31.41. In the longer distances, Samantha Rozek secured a solid sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter with a time of 11:28.1, while Catherine Bondi placed eighth in the same event at 12:14.16. In the mile race, Madeline Bender took seventh place with a time of 5:36.89, while Gianna Adamo placed 13th in 6:20.93.

The field events saw Breona Pizzuta earn third place in the high jump with a mark of 1.35m, adding to her busy day, which also included competing in the shot put and weight throw, where she placed 22nd (7.24m) and 18th (9.69m), respectively. Lillian Lovelsmith also participated in the shot put, placing 26th with a throw of 6.88m.

UP NEXT
The Ducks compete in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship Meet next weekend. The two-day event gets underway Friday in Reading, Pa.
