HOBOKEN, N.J. (June 4, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology Athletics Department finished in
21st place in the
2015 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup, placing it highest in the Empire 8 Conference and tops in New Jersey.
The standings are based on overall athletic performance for 18 selected teams, ranking departments across approximately 450 different NCAA Division III institutions. The finish is the second highest ever for Stevens.
The Ducks captured five different national championships during the 2014-15 campaign, culminating with the men's volleyball team's NCAA National Championship in April. The team title was the first in school history.
Individually, junior
Amy Regan captured the 2014 cross country national championship, while senior
Brittany Geyer took-home national championships in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke for women's swimming. In indoor track, junior
Gladys Njoku won the national championship in the high jump.
As a team, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's basketball, men's tennis, and men's volleyball combined for seven NCAA Tournament wins.
