High School: earned Honor Roll status…played for coach Paul Murray at Monsignor Donovan and also American Legion…also competed for the Toms River Black Sox showcase summer team…named captain his senior year…named Pitcher of the Year his junior year…also ran four years of winter Track at Monsignor Donovan.

Personal: son of Russell and Janice Poinsett…has two sisters named Michelle and Marianne and a brother named Matt…Matt plays baseball at Ocean County College…majoring in Civil Engineering…born 10/31/90…favorite aspect of Stevens are the job opportunities after college…top MLB team and player are the New York Mets and Al Leiter…favorite book and movie are Cats Cradle and Hot Tub Time Machine…enjoys playing football, basketball, and lifting.
