The Empire 8 Conference has picked senior Ashley Castillo (Cresskill, N.J.) of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team as its Co-Player of the Week for the second time this month.

Castillo propelled Stevens (10-3, 3-0) to a 2-1 week, including a pair of Empire 8 victories last Saturday.

To begin the week, the Cresskill, N.J. native dished out a match-high 51 assists in a five-set loss at SUNY New Paltz on September 17. Her 51 helpers was a career-high as well until her performance against Houghton College just three days later.

Against Houghton on the 20th, Castillo distributed the ball around Stevens' offense to a new school record of 63 assists in a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Highlanders. She also recorded 12 digs in the match.

In the first contest of Saturday's conference tri-match, she notched 13 assists in two sets in a sweep of Elmira College and put down four kills in as many attempts.

Castillo leads the conference in assists per set with 9.05 and ranks second in total assists with 398.
