Sophomore Mary Tobin was named Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. Tobin last earned E8 Player of the Week on September 29.
Last week, Tobin recorded 45 kills in a 4-0 week for Stevens and was named MVP of the Hartwick Invitational over the weekend. Tobin hit .314 overall to go along with 37 digs, six aces and three blocks. In a 3-0 win over Brockport, she swung at a .393 clip and put down 15 kills. The following match versus Oswego, Tobin notched 10 kills and hit .391.
The Boothwyn, Pa. native leads Stevens in points (350.5) and kills (311) this season. She also ranks second in hitting percentage at .270. Within the conference, the 2013 Rookie of the Year ranks second in kills per set at 3.46 and fifth in hitting percentage.
