Freshman Amy Regan was named Empire 8 Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week on Monday after her performance at the Princeton New Years Invitational on December 9.

Regan shattered the Stevens school record in the 5,000-meter race by 50 seconds with a time of 17:50.36 in the multi-divisional event on Sunday. She placed second overall in the event and passed the previous program standard set by Sarah Amitrani in 2008 with ECAC qualifying time.

She also bolsters the fourth fastest time thus far in the country for Division III so far in 2012-13.
