Freshman Amy Regan of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's outdoor track & field team qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 5,000-meter run which will take place from May 23-25 in La Crosse, Wis. Regan heads into the championships with the 13th best time in the 5K with a time of 17:03.41.

Regan is one of 22 competitors that will run in the 5K and is just one of three freshmen to qualify. She sits just six seconds behind in seeding from the top eight runners in the event.

So far this spring, she has twice set school standards in the 1,500-meter run (4:53 and 4:51) and 5K (17:38 and 17:03). Her time of 17:03 is the second fastest time amongst freshmen in Division III.
