 Freshman Hannah Brophy (Bridgewater, N.J.) of the Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team was named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Brophy helped Stevens to a pair of victories over the past five days and the Ducks are off to a 3-1 season this season.

In a 48-32 win on the road at Penn State Wilkes-Barre on November 20, Brophy played 15 minutes off the bench and scored six points with four rebounds. She went 3-for-6 from the field to lead Stevens in field goals made and shooting percentage in the contest.

Three days later, the Bridgewater, N.J. native shot 5-for-7 from the floor in a 69-59 win over SUNY New Paltz in Stevens' home opener. She totaled 13 points with three boards and went 3-for-4 at the free throw line in 26 minutes. Ten of her 13 points were scored in the first half.

In the first two games of the season, Brophy scored just six points but poured in 19 over her last two contests. She is averaging 6.3 points per outing, while shooting 53.3 percent from the field and 90 percent at the line.
