Senior Matt Skrelja (Clark, N.J.) led the Stevens men's basketball team to two Empire 8 Conference victories last weekend at home. Stevens defeated Utica, 81-67, on January 3 and then topped Ithaca, 75-50, on the 4th.
Against Utica, Skrelja netted a game-high 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting with five rebounds, four assists and two steals. In the win over Ithaca, he continued his hot shooting streak, going 11-for-13 from the field for a career-high 26 points with five more boards and four steals.
Over the past five games, the Clark, N.J. native has shot 67.3-percent (35-for-52) from the floor and averaged 16.8 points.
