Head coach Lindsay DeLaRosby of the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s and women’s swimming programs tapped Daniel MacQuarrie to be the new assistant coach of the nationally-ranked men’s and women’s programs in July of 2017.
MacQuarrie was most recently at Ithaca College, where he was assistant coach for back-to-back Empire 8 Championships in 2016 and 2017 and a member of the league’s Coaching Staff of the Year in both seasons. The Bombers also captured the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association titles in his two seasons in Ithaca. In addition to his responsibilities on the pool deck, MacQuarrie created and oversaw the program’s social media presence.
Prior to Ithaca, MacQuarrie was assistant swim coach at SUNY Cortland from 2013 to 2015, where he led the breaststroke and IM group and coached numerous Dragons to new conference and team records. He also swam collegiately at Cortland, where he helped a team with the SUNYAC title in 2013 and was a record-holder in the 400 medley relay.
MacQuarrie is certified as a lifeguard, in CPR, first aid and AED use by the American Red Cross.
