Anthony Bonaventura is in his sixth season as an assistant coach on the Stevens wrestling staff after joining the staff for the 2015-16 season.
Bonaventura has helped the Ducks capture conference titles in each of his first five seasons on Castle Point. Additionally, the Ducks captured the Region Titles in both 2015-16 (East Region) and 2019-20 (Southeast Region). For his efforts in 2015-16, Bonaventura was named East Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
Under Bonaventura’s leadership, 24 wrestlers have captured individual conference championships, 27 have been national qualifiers and 18 have become All-Americans including one national finalist.
Bonaventura came to Stevens after having spent the 2014-15 season as a graduate assistant coach at Waynesburg University. In that role, Bonaventura assisted with all aspects of the program including implementing training plans, coordinating team travel, and scheduling events.
A 2014 graduate of Waynesburg, Bonaventura was a two-time NCAA national qualifier in addition to being named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference's Most Outstanding Wrestler in 2013. As a senior in 2014, Bonaventura was an NCAA national finalist en route to being named a Division III All-American.
Bonaventura was no stranger to success in the classroom as well, being named Waynesburg's male scholar athlete of the year in 2013-14 while compiling three Academic All-American nods.
