Dobbelaar Baseball Field at the DeBaun Athletic Complex
Dobbelaar Baseball Field at the DeBaun Athletic Complex, home of the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks NCAA Division III Collegiate Baseball Program, is one of the premier facilities in the Northeast. Located atop the Stevens campus in Hoboken, N.J., the field overlooks the Hudson River and the New York City skyline, providing a unique backdrop for competitions and training. Raised seating offers clear views of the field, while recently-installed Musco stadium lights and a synthetic FieldTurf Vertex CORE surface allow for night games and year-round usage.
Designed to enhance both player performance and the fan experience, Dobbelaar Field features the above-mentioned synthetic turf surface, a fully turfed game day mound, a fully turfed home plate area, clearly defined baselines, warning tracks, protective netting, dugouts along the first and third base lines that are equipped with numerous electrical outlets, and a jumbo-size Sign Brothers "Lineup & Standings" board to enhance the game day experience for fans.
Seating along the third base side provides an excellent view of the field and skyline beyond the outfield wall. Additionally, there is game day field-level "Box Seating" available on select home contests behind home plate, slightly on the third base side. Tickets to the "Box Seating" area, when available, can only be purchased with cash ($10.00) on the day of the game(s).
Dobbelaar Field includes modern amenities such as full dugouts, portable bullpens, a nine-inning Daktronics baseball-only scoreboard, a pair of plyo walls for arm care, SportaFlex outfield fencing, and a BATCO Foldable Batting Cage. Additionally, Stevens recently installed a state-of-the-art digital Watchfire scoreboard in the centerfield area that displays graphics, highlights, and game information. The digital scoreboard also doubles as a "Batters Eye" during competition.
Also featured within the baseball complex is the AWRE Sports system, an AI-powered video and data platform that provides multi-angle streaming and performance analysis, with games available live on MACtv as well as "On Demand". Plans are in place to add a V3 Stadium Trackman system in the near future at Dobbelaar Field. The Stadium Trackman, along with the accompanying Trackman B1 portable unit practice system, will provide advanced baseball analytical data during both competition and training such as pitch movement, velocity, spin rate, exit velocity, and launch angle. Once installed, this technology will equip Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks Baseball student-athletes, coaches, and the Ducks Baseball Analytics Team with a premier industry-standard player development opportunity. The installation will be noteworthy as Stevens will be one of only a handful of NCAA Division III programs to feature a V3 Stadium Trackman.
With its professional-quality surface, modern technology, and scenic location, Dobbelaar Field offers an outstanding environment for NCAA Division III collegiate baseball as well as for player development and student-athlete experience.
