FARMNGDALE, N.Y.— Junior back Coralynn Jones (Stevensville, Mont./Stevensville) and freshman midfielder Nicole Migliore (Stratford, N.J./Sterling) each scored their first goals of the season to lead Stevens Institute of Technology women’s soccer past Farmingdale, 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon. It was the sixth consecutive shutout for Stevens, which improves to 11-0-1 and 3-0 in the Skyline Conference, while Farmingdale falls to 3-9 and 2-2 in the conference.
Senior forward Valerie Barnhart (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) netted her team leading 13th goal of the season at the 10:02 mark off a pass from junior midfielder Lorrie Brabender (Newark, Del./Padua Academy) to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead. Jones tapped in the second goal for Stevens off a goalie rebound from Barnhart’s shot on net. Sophomore back Cristina Fulgencio (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan E. Wagner) and sophomore midfielder Siena York-Carr (Davis, Calif./Davis Senior) tallied their first and fifth assists of the season, setting up Migliore who notched her first collegiate goal at 60:01.
Sophomore Erica Midttveit (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial)and freshman Gina Crifasi (Staten Island, N.Y./Staten Island Tech) shared the time in goal and recorded the shutout for Stevens. Midttveit had three saves in the game.
The Ducks will return to action on Thursday, October 14 when they travel to Montclair State for a 4 p.m start.
