Women’s Soccer earns fourth consecutive shutout in scoreless tie with Richard Stockton

HOBOKEN, N.J..— Stevens Institute of Technology and Richard Stockton College played to a 0-0 double-overtime tie on Wednesday night in a women’s soccer match at DeBaun Field.  It was the fourth consecutive shutout for Stevens which improves to 9-0-1 with its first tie, while Richard Stockton moves to 6-4-1.

The Ospreys were able to shut down Stevens senior Valerie Barnhart (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown Area) who has totaled at least one point in the Ducks last six games and sophomore Heather Dean (Renton, Wash./Charles Lindbergh) who tallied at least one goal in the teams last two games.  Dean and Barnhart had five and four shots respectively in the game with two shots on goal.

The Ducks out shot the Ospreys 18-8 in the game and had the advantage in corner kicks at 7-1.

Becky Baisley stopped 10 shots for Richard Stockton.  Sophomore Erica Midttveit (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) had five saves in earning her sixth shutout of the season for Stevens.

The Ducks will return to action on Saturday, October 9 when they host their annual Alumnae Day with a 1 p.m. game against FDU-Florham.
