Women's Soccer shuts out Drew, 2-0; Ducks remain unbeaten at 7-0

Sophomore midfielder Siena York-Carr tallied her first career goal in the Ducks' 2-0 win over Drew.

MADISON, N.J. - Sophomore midfielder Siena York-Carr (Davis, Calif./Davis Senior) scored in the second minute of the game and sophomore back Heather Dinsmore (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) added a goal in the second half to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s soccer team past Drew on Saturday afternoon.

Stevens earned its seventh straight win and improved to 7-0 overall, while Drew dropped to 3-4-1.

York-Carr scored the Ducks’ first goal in the second minute of the game off a free kick.  Senior forward Valerie Barnhart (Gilbertsivlle, Pa./Boyertown) crossed it to York-Carr who notched her first career goal.

Stevens increased its lead to 2-0 at 60:56 when sophomore midfielder Megan Legendre (O’Fallon, Ill./O’Fallon Township) and sophomore forward Heather Dean (Renton, Wash./Charles Lindbergh) assisted on a goal by Dinsmore who also scored for the first time this season.

Stevens out shot Drew 14-8 in the game and goalie Erica Midttveit (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) stopped three shots to earn the shut out. 

The Ducks return to action on Wednesday, September 29 when they host Mount St. Mary at 7 p.m. in their second Skyline Conference match-up of the season.
