No. 25 Women’s Soccer Edges Eastern 4-2

DAVIDS, PA (October 8, 2005) – The No. 25 ranked Stevens Institute of Technology women’s soccer team set a new school record for consecutive non-conference victories with nine after defeating Eastern University, 4-2,  in Davids, PA Saturday morning.  With the win, the Ducks improve to 12-1 overall, while Eastern falls to 9-4 with the loss.

After a scoreless first half, junior Megan Legendre (O’Fallon, IL) connected on a pass from junior Cristina Fulgencio (Staten Island, NY) to give Stevens a 1-0 lead.

Eastern answered back to tie the game 1-1, but freshman Megan Tennyson (Folsom, LA) countered with her team leading eighth goal of the season to give the Ducks a 2-1 advantage. 

Freshman Alison Amos (Plano, TX) found junior Siena York-Carr (Davis, CA) with 9:19 remaining in the game to give Stevens a 3-1 edge. 

After the Eagles brought the game within one, senior Heather Dean (Renton, WA) scored on a pass from sophomore Gina Crifasi (Staten Island, NY) to put the Ducks ahead 4-2 with 3:02 remaining in the game.

Stevens who entered the national rankings for the first time this season earlier this week, is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 12, when it hosts Montclair State at 7 p.m. at DeBaun Field.  Last season the Ducks defeated the Red Hawks 2-0 at Montclair.
