HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 25, 2006) –Senior Karen O’Shea (Union, N.J.) set a personal best time in the 500-yard freestyle event, but the Stevens Institute of Technology women’s swimming squad (3-7) dropped a 117-66 decision to C.W. Post on Wednesday night. O’Shea placed second in the race with a time of 5:33.46 and also finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:44.44.
Freshman Nicole Ogrosso (Staten Island, N.Y.) earned a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.05. Ogrosso took home a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.77. Freshman Emily Woo (Lodi, Calif.) took home a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:19.76. Woo earned a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:04.70.
The men’s swim team returns to action on Friday, January 27 when it hosts Maritime College at 7 p.m. Both teams will host Adelphi University on Tuesday, January 31 at 7 p.m.
