ALFRED, N.Y. (October 11, 2008) – For the second time in a row, sophomore forward Katria Misilo posted the only score of the game to help guide the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team to its ninth win of the season (9-2-1) and third Empire 8 victory. Just three days ago, Misilo notched the game winner against previously ranked The College of New Jersey. Today she was good from 25 yards out having scored at the 60th-minute mark.

With 15 minutes expired from the clock in the second half, junior midfielder/forward Erica Risch passed a defender along the left wing as she centered the ball to Misilo, who ripped a shot from 25 yards out that sailed over the outstretched arms of senior keeper Amy Buisman for the only score of the game.

The Ducks dominated the offensive end of the field as they fired 27 shots, six of which were on goal. The Saxons had a total of three shots with one on goal. Stevens out-corned Alfred 3-1 as Buisman pulled in five saves.

In goal for the Ducks was freshman Kaitlin McCylmont. In her third start of the season, McCylmont (2-1) went the distance having played all 90 minutes to earn her third shutout of the year. She was tested just once on the afternoon as she recorded a save.

Stevens will return to the pitch on Sunday when it takes on Nazareth College in a much anticipated Empire 8 matchup. The Golden Flyers along with Ithaca College stand atop of the leader board with a flawless 4-0 league mark. Tomorrows game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
