ELMIRA, N.Y. (October 4, 2008) – Junior midfielder/forward Leslie Kallberg posted a pair of goals as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team (7-2-1, 2-1) blanked Elmira College 3-0 on Saturday, en route to its second conference win of the season. It was Kallberg's first set of goals for the 2008 campaign as the team recorded its sixth shutout of the year.

At the 10-minute mark, Kallberg tallied the first goal of the game and her first of the season on an unassisted rip from 10 yards out. A deflected pass on a clearing attempt by the Golden Flyers found Kallberg, who dribbled past a defender to bury the ball in the top-right corner. The Ducks out-shout Elmira 3-2 in the first half.

With less than 20 minutes to play in regulation, Kallberg found the back of the net again for Stevens as she recorded her second goal of the year. Her tally came off of a shot blasted by senior midfielder Salme Cook. Elmira goalkeeper, sophomore Stacy Krom (Amsterdam, N.Y.) could not corral the blast from Cook as the ball fell in the direction of Kallberg, who sent it home to give the Ducks a 2-0 lead. Five minutes later, sophomore back Jayme Highley found senior midfielder Audra Clark off a corner kick as Clark leaped to head the ball through the left-hand side for her first score of the season.

The Ducks held a 14-2 shot advantage in the second half as Stevens totaled 13 shots on goal. Stevens out-cornered the Golden Flyers 8-2. Sophomore goalkeeper Jenn Pontier pulled in two saves and was credited with the win (6-1-1) as she played the entire contest. Krom was tabbed with the loss for her 75 minutes in goal as she recorded 10 saves.

This away game was the second of five in its road trip for Stevens as it heads to Ewing, N.J. to take on The College of New Jersey on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
