HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 16, 2008) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team claimed its second-straight Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Metro Championship on Sunday in Hoboken at the De Baun Athletic Complex with a 1-0 win over rival New York University. Stevens (15-5-2) got a goal from senior Meghan Tennyson in the fourth minute of action, and the Stevens midfield and defense was able to hold NYU offense at bay over the final 85-plus minutes of action. Sophomore Sonia Kappeler was named the ECAC Championship's Most Outstanding Performer after a fantastic performance in the Ducks' midfield.

Just under five minutes into the contest, sophomore forward Katria Misilo posted her sixth assist of the season when she connected for Tennyson's fourth tally of the year. Misilo passed the ball into the middle to find Tennyson, who ripped a shot from 28 yards out and around the head of sophomore goalkeeper Alex Walters (Babylon, N.Y.).

The Ducks' defense did a superb of limiting the number of chances the Violets had offensively. Stevens out-shot NYU 15-9, while the Violets out-cornered the Ducks 10-6. Freshman keeper Caitlin McClymont played all 90 minutes as she pulled in six saves while not allowing a goal. This was McClymont's fourth shutout of the season and 10th overall for Stevens.

With Stevens having claimed is second ECAC Metro Title, the Ducks have concluded the 2008 season with an overall mark of 15-5-2.
