HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 13, 2008) – Sophomore forward Katria Misilo broke a scoreless battle between the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team and the Brewers of Vassar College Saturday night in Hoboken, N.J. At the 61-minute mark, Misilo received a nice cross from junior midfielder Alicia Vandersluis and ripped a shot to place the ball in the upper right corner from 10 yards out. The Ducks went on to win 2-0 as they move to 3-1-1 on the year and improve their home win streak to 43 consecutive games. With tonight's loss Vassar falls to 2-1.

Stevens out-shot (12-6) and out-cornered (5-3) the Brewers in the first half of play as the Ducks dominated both sides of the field. Just over 16 minutes into the second half, Misilo recorded her second goal of the season off the foot of Vandersluis, her first assist of the year. Stevens 43 straight home games without a loss dates back to the 2004 season and is currently the longest active home-win record in the NCAA.

Senior midfielder Salme Cook notched her fifth goal of the season off a rebound shot by junior back/midfielder Kate Stewart. From around 30 yards out Stewart ripped a shot that senior goalkeeper Anne Hutchinson (Tampa, Fla.) could not grab a hold of as Cook flew in to tap it through. Cook is currently averaging one goal per game and leads the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists.

Overall, Stevens posted 26 shots and six corners to the Brewers 11 and five, respectively. Sophomore keeper Jenn Pontier played the entire contest and made five saves on the night to run her record to 3-0-1. Hutchinson also played the whole game and registered six stops to fall to 2-1 on the year.

The Ducks will return to play on Wednesday when they travel to Montclair, N.J. to take on Montclair State University at 3:30 p.m. Following that matchup, Stevens will play host to St. John Fisher College in the first Empire 8 game of the season next Saturday.
