EASTON, Pa. (November 18, 2012) – Sophomore Jorge Rojas (Guaynabo, P.R.) was 10-1 on the day and won the 27th and deciding bout of a 14-13 victory over Drew University as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team swept four local rivals on Sunday. The Ducks also topped Cornell University, Rutgers University and host Lafayette College at the event.

Each pairing was tight, but the matchup with the Rangers was especially exciting. With the count even at 13-13, Rojas stepped up and won the final foil bout to clinch the win for the Castle Pointers.

The Ducks beat the Big Red 16-11 and outlasted Rutgers and Lafayette by identical 15-12 scores.

Anthony Worthington (Falmouth, Mass.) and Daniel Tracey (Livingston, N.J.) also had good days wielding the foil, racking up 8-3 and 8-4 records, respectively.

In epee, Billy Dannhauser (Fairfield, Conn.) was 8-1 to lead that squad and freshman Steven Dazo (Pequannock, N.J.) finished with an admirable 6-2 mark. In his first start of the season, David Smith (Neshanic Station, N.J.) led the sabreists with a 5-4 ledger.

Stevens will be back in action on November 29 when the team will travel to New York University for a make-up date at 6 p.m.
