POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (November 10, 2013) – Senior
Briana Nieradka eclipsed the 200-win plateau and went 18-5 on the day to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team to a 5-3 day at the Vassar Invitational.
Stevens tallied its five wins over Wellesley (18-9), host Vassar (17-10), Yeshiva (23-4), Lafayette (22-5) and CCNY (16-11). The Ducks fell to Cornell, Sacred Heart and Tufts.
Nieradka went 18-5 overall to lead the epee squad, while junior Siena Batzli finished 13-6. Sophomore
Deanna Quackenbush wrapped her day with a mark of 12-9.

Caroleen Chen was Stevens' (5-3) team-high bout-winner, pocketing 20 wins and ending with a record of 20-3. Junior
Taia Harrison was 11-9.
Highlighting the sabre unit was
Zoe To who finished with a 10-8 mark.
Epee finished with an overall mark of 48-24, while Foil had a record of 39-33 as 16 total fencers saw action Sunday for Stevens.
Nieradka, Stevens' all-time wins leader, now has 216 victories in her career. The Ducks will return to action December 6 at Hunter College.
