FAIRFIELD, Conn. (December 8, 2013) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team went 1-2 at the Sacred Heart Duals in Fairfield, Conn. Sunday. The Ducks earned a victory over Vassar College, 17-10, but fell to Harvard University and host SHU.
The scored of the Harvard match was 23-4 and the Sacred Heart tally was 16-11.
Leading the Ducks on the day was sophomore
Logan Koester and rookie
Stephen Rienzi. Koester was 5-4 in epee action as was Rienzi.
In the Vassar win, the foil squad won 6-3, and the epee group won 7-2. Epee also won against the Pioneers, 5-4.
Stevens is now 15-5 on the year, and the Ducks will now head into winter break before returning to competitive action on February 1.
