NEW YORK CITY (March 1, 2013) – Senior
Victor Servito (Teaneck, N.J.) currently ranks third in the heptathlon for the Stevens Institute of Technology men's indoor track & field team at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships after the first day of competition. Day two begins at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the New York City Armory.
Servito has totaled 2,538 points through four events and set personal bests in the 60-meter dash, shot put and high jump. He ran a time of 7.38 seconds in the 60, recorded a mark of 9.99 meters (32 feet, 9.5 inches) in the shot put and cleared the bar in the high jump at 1.90 meters (6' 2.25”).
SUNY Fredonia's Spencer Lefort is in first with 2.650 points, while Worcester State University's Jason Sliwoski is second at 2,562 points.
Sophomore
Kristopher Alvarez (Hainesport, N.J.) also posted a personal record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.52 seconds in the preliminaries. Alvarez came in 11th overall.
Junior
Michael Cahill (Clark, N.J.) and sophomore
Robert Pinto (Staten Island, N.Y.) are still yet to compete in the 3,000-meter run and high jump. Cahill will run at 2 p.m. tomorrow, while Pinto will jump at 12:30 p.m.
