UTICA, N.Y. (September 28, 2013) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team earned a 3-0 Empire 8 Conference victory over Utica College on Saturday afternoon in Utica, N.Y. Three difference Ducks scored in the win to lift Stevens to a 4-5 overall record and 1-0 in the Empire 8.

Raba Nassif (Northvale, N.J.) found senior
Bridgette Barden (Redondo Beach, Calif.) wide open on the doorstep of the goal for the tally. The score is Barden's third goal of the season and it is also the third assist for Nassif on the year.
The Ducks opened their lead to 2-0 in the 42nd minute on the second mark of 2013 for junior
Mariah Cleveland (Los Gatos, Calif.). Cleveland took a shot from the corner of the box to beat Utica goalkeeper Jamie Enders. Enders suffered the loss but made 16 saves in the contest.
Late in the second half, freshman
Gabby Mathelier (Pomona, N.Y.) tacked on the third Stevens goal in the 83rd minute as she beat the Utica defender down the left flank and struck a shot into the far post for her fifth goal.
Sophomore
Evelyn Ting (Gaithersburg, Md.) earned her first victory over the season in all 90 minutes of action. Ting stopped five shots in the shutout win which is the second this year for Stevens.
Stevens outshot Utica, 23-9, and took seven corners to just three for the Pioneers.
The Ducks return to action on October 1 at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa. for a 4 p.m. match.
