BALTIMORE, Md. (January 18, 2014) – The fourth-ranked Johns Hopkins University women's swimming team defeated ninth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology, 134-119, Saturday afternoon.

Jennifer Rutledge placed third in the 200-yard medley relay to open the event, with freshman standout
Danielle Caruso earning the first of her three wins in the 1,000-yard freestyle behind a 10:42.15. Sophomore
Elizabeth Heinbach was second with a 10:56.42.
Caruso came back to win the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a 1:56.48, and Geyer took second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:08.84.
Heinbach and her 2:17.84 was good for fourth place in the 200-yard butterfly, and junior
April Lawson was Stevens' top finisher in the 50-yard freestyle, taking third and touching at 25.16.
Lawson placed third in the 100-yard freestyle as well with a time of 54.69, and freshman
Claire Hendershot was fourth in the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.77).
Geyer picked up a victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, turning in a 2:28.45, with sophomore
Elena Piper taking second place with a 2:33.72. Caruso's third and final win of the afternoon was in the 500-yard freestyle as the rookie touched a 5:12.19.
The Ducks are now 1-2 overall and will return to action when it hosts Hartwick College on February 1 at 12 p.m. That dual will serve as the team's Senior Day and all the action can be seen at www.Empire8.TV.
