Men’s Fencing Competes at Eric Sollee Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass. (February 1, 2014) – Junior Jorge Rojas went 13-2 overall to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team at the Eric Sollee Invitational Saturday in Waltham, Mass.
 
The Ducks went 2-3 on the day and are now 17-8 overall. Stevens earned an 18-9 win over New Jersey Institute of Technology and a 17-10 victory over Boston College. The Ducks fell to Brown University (16-11), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (15-12) and Brandeis University (20-7).
 
The top-performing weapon for Stevens was foil, going 25-20 overall. Epee was 22-23, while sabre went 18-27.
 
In addition to Rojas, sophomore Logan Koester went 10-5 in epee, and rookie Michael Szczesniak was 8-5 in sabre action.
 
The Ducks will return to action February 9 in the team's lone home appearance of the season in a MACFA Round Robin in Canavan Arena.
