Box Score HOBOKEN, N.J. (August 31, 2014) – Sophomore
Raba Nassif (Northvale, N.J.) tallied a career-high four goals in a 7-0 non-conference victory for the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team over Brooklyn College on Sunday. The seven goals scored are the most Stevens has posted in a match since the Ducks notched 8-0 and 10-0 wins in 2007.
Nassif needed just 13:18 to pick up a hat trick and added her fourth marker in the 64th minute. Her first goal came in the ninth minute unassisted from 25 yards out, the second off a through ball from junior
Kristen Goncalves (Dix Hills, N.Y.) in the 12th minute and her third came off another feed from Goncalves at the 13:18 point in the first half.
Goncalves then put the Ducks up 4-0 on a free kick from nearly 30 yards out to account for her four-point afternoon in the 55th minute.
In the 64th minute, Nassif took a quick pass on a run down the middle of the field from freshman
Kaitlin Goncalves (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and raced past the Brooklyn defense for Stevens' fifth goal on the contest. Nassif's eight-point performance on four goals left her just a goal short and three points shy of the school single-game records.
Stevens tacked on two more in the 77th and 80th minutes as freshman
Sandi Komar (San Diego, Calif.) and sophomore
Rachel Chavkin (Franklin Park, N.J.) registered their first collegiate goals. Senior
Ann Heine (Sammamish, Wash.) assisted on the Komar goal and freshman
Sammy Mount (The Woodlands, Texas) assisted on Chavkin's score.
Freshman
Lindsey Mahnken (Bayville, N.J.) earned the first win of her collegiate career and made one save in 90 minutes of action.
Stevens finished the contest with 38 shots and held the Bulldogs to just two. The Ducks also attempted 11 corners to zero for Brooklyn.
Up next for the Ducks will be the 11th Annual Engineering Cup on September 6-7. Stevens opens with Vassar College at 10 a.m. on the 6th and then entertains Hudson River rival New York University on the 7th at 3 p.m.
