HOBOKEN, N.J. (OCTOBER 26, 2015) – The No. 16 Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team (13-2-1) ends its non-conference schedule Tuesday as they take on Western Connecticut State University.
MATCH DETAILSKickoff will be tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the Western Athletic Complex in Danbury, Conn.
SCOUTING WEST CONNThe Colonials come into the match with a 12-5-1 mark, and have won four straight. The Ducks defense has to contain Autumn Sorice, who leads the Colonials with nine goals, six assists and 24 points. The two sides met last year, with Western Connecticut escaping Hoboken with a 2-1 victory.
PHI SCOREA GOALAThe Ducks are currently tied for 10
th nationally in total goals scored, and eighth in assists per game. Freshman
Zisi Komar sits 53
rd in the country in goals scored, and leads the Empire 8 Conference with 15 markers.
RABA THE HELPERJunior
Raba Nassif is tied for second nationally with 15 assists, trailing only Chestley Strother of the University of Texas-Tyler. Over her previous two seasons, Nassif had only tallied nine helpers.
K-GO CAREER DAYSenior
Kristen Goncalves set career highs in Saturday's 7-1 victory over Utica College. Goncalves tallied a pair of goals to along with three assists and seven points, all of which were career highs. The New York native has eight goals and seven assists in her final year on Castle Point.
KOMAR COMIN ONIn addition to her 15 goals, Komar is tied for ninth nationally with six game-winning goals. Of the six GWG's, two have come in overtime.
