HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 31, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team put-forth a dominant effort over Elmira College Saturday, winning 5-1 in the final game of the regular season.
The win moved Stevens to 11-7 (5-3), while Elmira ends its season at 5-12 (1-7).
Junior
Taylor Welch and sophomore
Victoria Alvarez led the Ducks with two goals each, while senior
Dailyn Brook rounded-out the Ducks scoring with a goal of her own. Junior
Nolie Prouty added two assists, bringing her season total to a team-leading 11 this season.

Emily Stukenborg converted three saves, sending her career total past the 400 mark. As a team, the Ducks bested Elmira in shots 20-7, while converting seven more penalty corners.
After some early pressure by the Ducks in opening two minutes, Alvarez was able to break through with a goal in minute three. Off a rebound from Prouty's shot, Alvarez was able to gain control and send one to the back of the cage for the score.
The lead held for the remainder of the half before Alvarez made it 2-0 with a goal in the 43rd off a tip-in from Brook. Welch followed suit four minutes later with a tip-in of her own, before Brook answered with her goal in minute 58.
After carrying the ball down the right side, Welch sent a pass to the middle of the zone where Brook slammed the one-timer past the goalie. Welch connected with a one-timer of her own one minute later from Alvarez, giving the Ducks a 5-0 lead with 10 minutes remaining.
Elmira was able to finally get on the board with a goal in the 62nd, however it's as close as they would get the rest of the night.
The Ducks will now set their sights to the Empire 8 Conference Championship semifinal, where they'll face St. John Fisher College Friday at 6 p.m. in Ithaca as the three seed.
