Women’s Soccer Looks To Continue Winning Ways Wednesday

HOBOKEN, N.J. (SEPTEMBER 22, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team looks to extend its winning streak to two games when they host Farmingdale State University Wednesday at 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore Lindsey Mahnken made five stops, and the offense got goals from senior Carly Bean and sophomore Sammy Mount to lead the Ducks to a 2-0 victory over Houghton College Saturday.

MAHNKEN THE SAVES
Through six games this year, Mahnken has made 23 saves and is seven away from 100 in her career. Thanks to her five stop performance Saturday, the Bayville, N.J. native was named Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

HEADS UP
Mount headed in her second career goal Saturday off a corner kick from freshman Olivia Butera. Earlier in the season, freshman Zisi Komar scored the game-winning goal against Vassar College on a header thanks to a well-placed cross from Bean.

MEET THE DUCKS
Junior Raba Nassif and Komar are tied for the team lead with three goals, with Nassif notching a pair of assists as well. Bean is third on the club with five points while Mount and senior Kristen Goncalves each have a goal and assist this year.

SCOUTING THE RAMS
In 2014, Farmingdale won the Skyline Conference and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, where they were eliminated by Johns Hopkins University. Last fall, it was the Rams who defeated the Ducks 2-1 with Nassif scoring the lone goal for Stevens in that contest. Ashley Guerrero and Ashlee Thompson are tied for the team lead with three points. Farmingdale has a balanced offense, with six players each notching a goal.
