RESULTS
HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 20, 2016) – The No. 16 Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team picked up a 146-116 dual meet win over The College of New Jersey Wednesday.
The Ducks moved to 2-1 in dual meets on the season, topping both in-state rivals on the season. Earlier this year, Stevens topped Rowan University.
Senior
Elizabeth Heinbach and junior
Claire Hendershot finished first and second respectively in the 1,000-yard freestyle, while classmate
Danielle Caruso was tops in the 200-freestyle with a mark of 1:59.39. Senior
Katlyn Christenson was third in the 200-free, coming in with a time of 2:04.37.
Freshman
Courtney Jones racked up a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke, and senior
Elena Piper followed suit with a second of her own in the 100-breaststroke. Freshman
Laurie Prinz was .24 seconds behind Piper, good enough for third place.
Sophomore
Sarah Jurczyk nabbed first in the 200-fly with a time of 2:11.39, while Caruso and Jones went 1-2 in the 100-freestyle. Fellow second-year
Kaitlynn Prescott was first in the 200-back, and Jurczyk came back with her second first place of the afternoon in the 100-fly.
The Ducks claimed the top-three spots in the 200-yard IM, and closed out the afternoon with a first place time of 3:41.70 in the 400-freestyle relay.
The team will be back in action for Senior Day on January 30 against Hartwick College.
