Track and Field releases 2017 Indoor Schedule

HOBOKEN, N.J. (December 2, 2016)  – Stevens Institute of Technology's men's and women's indoor track and field head coach Justin Wood announced the 2017 schedules Friday afternoon. The Ducks will compete at nine meets in preparation for the ECAC Championships at Ithaca College and the NCAA Indoor Championships in Naperville, Illinois on back-to-back weekends in March.

"It's really exciting to be kicking off the 2016-17 Track and Field season," said head coach Justin Wood. "We'll be training through most of our early season meets this year and not chasing any big marks until we are deeper into the season."

The season begins with the Springfield College Season Opener on Saturday, December 3. After a six-week layoff, the Ducks return to the track for the Utica Invitational on January 14. The Gotham Cup follows on January 20, just one day before Stevens returns to Springfield College for the Maroon and White Invitational.

Another trip to Massachusetts comes one week later, when Stevens travels to Boston for Terrier Classic, where the Ducks will compete against several top programs.

"The Boston University Terrier Classic is where we expect to be ready for some big performances," Wood added.

A weekend meet at the New York City Armory comes next on the schedule as the final event before the Empire 8 Championships. The Princeton Invitational and the Fasttrack Challenge round out the indoor schedule before the Ducks head to the ECAC Championships and the NCAA Indoor Championship in March.

"We will put a big focus on the E8s at Utica College," Wood continued. "We will then use the Princeton and Fasttrack meets to get our final ECAC and NCAA qualifiers.'
