Stevens has been consistently ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Association poll at spots 14-17 all season. The Ducks earned a tie with No. 2 Messiah College early in the year and won a share of the Empire 8 regular season title with a 7-1 league record.
Because of tiebreakers Stevens had to go on the road for the Empire 8 Tournament, but avenged its only league loss with a 3-2 besting of Nazareth College in PK's in the semifinals and then an identical 3-2 PK victory over host Hartwick College after a scoreless tie in the final. The Ducks became the first team in league history to win the Championship without scoring a goal in the tournament.

The Ducks have not allowed a goal in their last four games, a total of 441 minutes. In fact, the only goal Stevens has surrendered in the last month came in a 1-0 setback to national No. 2 The College of New Jersey on October 18. Other than that blemish, Stevens opponents have been cage-free since October 7, a total of seven matches.
The Brandeis team is making a fourth-straight appearance in the NCAA tournament, the longest stretch in program history under head coach Denise Dallamora, the team's only coach in the program's 38-year history.
The Judges posted a 12-match unbeaten streak earlier this year, going 10-0-2 after dropping their season opener. Coming off a Final Four appearance, the Judges were ranked No. 6 in the preseason and as high as 15
th in the nation during the year, before a slow finish to the campaign dropped them out of the top 25. They finished at 11-4-4 overall and 2-3-2 in the
University Athletic Association, tied for fourth place, and were one of four UAA squads to make the tournament.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the Judges and Ducks. They have two common opponents this season: Babson and NYU. Both squads defeated Babson (3-0 for Brandeis, 2-1 in OT for Stevens). Stevens defeated NYU, 1-0, while Brandeis and the Violets tied 1-1 this past weekend.
On the other side of the bracket, host Williams College (16-1-1) will take on Lesley (16-2-3), meaning Stevens is the only school in the pod not from the Bay State. Williams was ranked fourth in the most recent national poll and Lesley has not given up a goal in its last 10 games.
