Men’s Fencing Tallies Three Wins At MACFA Round Robin

HOBOKEN, N.J. (February 12, 2017) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team topped Hunter, Army and Yeshiva Sunday at Canavan Arena in a 3-1 day at the MACFA round robin. 

Stevens beat Hunter 19-8, Army 16-11, and Yeshiva 25-2, while falling to NJIT 23-4. 

Four Ducks tallied at least four wins led by six from junior Michael Ruotolo at foil, while freshman Ian Blakeslee and sophomore Brennan Wu each went 5-1 at sabre and foil respectively.

Senior Stephen Rienzi went unbeaten at 4-0 to round out Stevens' top performances. 

Stevens will return to the strips next Sunday when it heads to NJIT for another MACFA round robin.
