Men’s Fencing Picks Up Win Over Ranked Opponent At Temple

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (February 26, 2017) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's fencing team topped No. 16 Brown 17-10 Sunday at the annual Temple Invitational. 

The day included losses to Princeton, Brown, UPenn, Penn State, and St. John's, all of whom are ranked in the top-10 nationally. 

In the win against Brown, Stevens' epee squad posted a winning record of 5-4 to lead the team, while foil went 4-5. 

For the day, sophomore George Allen and sophomore Ryan Edelstein each won six times at foil, while sophomore Leonard Behrens and junior Kirk Visser won seven and six bouts at epee respectively. Junior Ian Fan and sophomore Timothy Steinberg each won six times at sabre. 

Stevens will return to the strips next Sunday for the MACFA Championships.
