Women’s Soccer Tops Alfred 5-1 for Seventh Straight Win

ALFRED, N.Y. (October 7, 2018)  – Senior Misha Brewster recorded the fourth multi-goal game of her career to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team to a 5-1 victory over Alfred University Sunday in an Empire 8 conference fixture at Yunevich Stadium.

Brewster received a long ball from Gianna Nitti and beat Alfred goalkeeper Makenzie Cashmer to open scoring in the 15th minute. The Livermore, California native found the back of the net again in the second half to collect her second multi-goal game of the season. Brewster has posted five goals in her senior campaign and is closing in on her career high of seven, set in 2016.

Freshman Ally Wanzor and sophomore Taylor Schaad also scored for the Ducks, who won their seventh consecutive match to improve to 9-2 on the year and a perfect 5-0 in conference play. Wanzor has scored in four consecutive contests and leads the team with six goals, which also ties the Jackson, New Jersey native for third in the conference.

Sophomore Anna Vidovich scored on a penalty kick in the 90th minute for her first collegiate goal to round out Stevens' scoring.

Sierra Wilson scored the lone Alfred goal off of a free kick in the 38th minute. The Saxons fell to 8-5 on the season and 2-3 in league play.
