Women’s Swimming Falls to TCNJ

  • The Lead: Despite two individual wins from junior Isabella Fairman and a first place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, the Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team fell to The College of New Jersey Saturday afternoon.
  • Short Story: Touching the wall at 10:53.81, Fairman earned first place points in the 1000-yard freestyle after finishing almost 20 seconds ahead of her competitors. The Saint Paul, Minnesota native also earned first place in the 200-yard backstroke after coming in at 2:17.80. Fairman, along with sophomore Isabelle Rivera, junior Samantha Zdesar and senior Sam Geyer swam to a first place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, recording a time of 3:46.53.

Top Finishers
  • The 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore April Ullrich and freshmen Audrey Fanning, Kathryn Doo and Katelyn Chen earned a third-place finish for the Ducks. 
  • Freshman Madie DeJong finished third in the 200-yard freestyle, followed by Zdesar. 
  • Geyer recorded a second place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke after touching the wall .05 seconds behind TCNJ's Annie Menninger. The Brunswick, Ohio native also finished second in the 400-yard IM and earned a third place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. 
  • In the 500-yard freestyle, DeJong earned first place points with a time of 5:25.12, followed by Zdesar in second place. 
  • Rivera touched the wall third in both the in 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, finishing at 25.66 and 1:02.30, respectively.
