HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 17, 2018) – Eight different Ducks scored as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team dominated Wellesley College 18-3 at home on Saturday.
Mackenzie Metzler led the way with four goals and
Kyra Bednarski and
Julianna Ricci both matched the Blue's team output of three goals.
The game was never close; Stevens scored the first nine goals in just over 10 minutes.
Cami Santor handed our six assists in the game and also scored two goals. The six assists are just one shy of the program record for helpers in a game.
Three Duck goaltenders saw action; all allowed just one goal each as
Stephanie Schnelzer,
Peyton Taylor and
Olivia Demetres split the duties between the pipes. Schnelzer earned the win, her fourth of the season.
Other Stevens goal scorers included
Haley Hanrahan,
Hannah Condren,
Emily Shanklin, Santor and
Brianne Salera.
Tori Bruce was all over the defensive side of the field, causing three turnovers and earning two ground balls and two draw controls.
Hanrahan led the team with five DC's.
Stevens was nearly perfect on clear attempts (10-11) and was on the right side of every stat category (shots, ground balls, draw controls, free-positions, fouls and turnovers) in the dominant win.
