HOBOKEN, N.J. (May 3, 2018) – The Stevens Institute of Technology athletics department hosted its second-annual #AllRise Awards this week, in celebration of what may prove to be the most successful season ever in the over 100-year history of sports on Castle Point.
Members of all 26 varsity sports at Stevens were treated to an evening of highlight videos, jokes, photo ops, fashion in a 'Duckspy' atmosphere as a wrap-up to the academic year and a salute to the graduating senior class. Tuesday's event was streamed worldwide via Facebook Live.
Here are this year's winners:
Play of the Year: Jonas Melendez win Empire 8 Championship for Men's Soccer
Newcomers of the Year: Brett Kaliner (Wrestling) and Makenna Sargis (Women's Tennis)
Comeback Story of the Year: Delaney West (Women's Soccer)
Stevens Staff Appreciation Award: Robert Greiser
Stevens Scholar-Athletes: Karen Kong (Women's Fencing), Danny Polk (Men's Tennis) and John Raziano (Men's Track & Field)
Lisa Fe Roldan Award, given to the alumna who has given back to Stevens:
Dana Bacalla (Tennis Programs)
Doc Farrell Award, given to a member of the athletic department who demonstrates integrity, service, conduct, and dedication to Stevens Athletics: Jake Ulasevich (Men's Soccer)
Glue Award: Dallas Creamer (Men's Lacrosse) and Tori Glascock (Women's Swimming)
Record-Breaking Performance: Katie Weeks (Women's Track & Field)
Breakthrough Team of the Year: Women's Basketball
Raveche Award, given to those who combine academic and athletic excellence with the ability to lead in the classroom and in competition: Bryan Rogers (Men's Lacrosse) and Cami Santor (Women's Lacrosse)
Max Klimkeit Award, given to those who exemplify the ideals of sportsmanship and spirit within the Stevens Athletics Department: Drew Cottrell (men's lacrosse) and Farryl Groder (Softball).
John A. Davis Award, given to one student-athlete who exemplifies loyalty and devotion to the Institute, self-control and modesty, perseverance under adverse conditions, fairness to opponents, and observance of the rules of the game: Gabe Shankweiler (Men's Volleyball)
Power Awards: Gabe Shankweiler (Men's Volleyball) and Gina Dello Russo (Women's Track & Field)
Most Improved Power Awards: Alex Kainer (Men's Track & Field) and Katie Weeks (Women's Track & Field)

Exceptional Performance: Troy Stanich (Wrestling) and Gina Dello Russo (Women's Track & Field)
Game of the Year: Men's Soccer Comeback win over Cortland to go to the Sweet 16
Gear and Triangle Awards, given to senior athletes who were selected as the best athletes in their graduating class: Zach Wilhelm (Wrestling) and Abby Kaye (Women's Fencing)
Irvin "Buzz" Seymour Award, given to the athletes of the year: Tom Burrell (Men's Volleyball) and Megan Brown (Women's Basketball)

Chris Thompson, with O'Brien providing in-house voice-over and
Russell Rogers providing the keynote address.
