Women’s Volleyball Closes Ducks Classic with 3-0 Sweep of SUNY-New Paltz

Casey King Posts Second Straight Double-Double

HOBOKEN, N.J. (Sept. 21, 2019) – Led by a double-double from Casey King, the Stevens Institute of Technology women's volleyball team grabbed a 3-0 victory over SUNY-New Paltz Saturday in the final contest of the Ducks Classic inside Canavan Arena.

King, a senior out of Wallington, N.J., posted her second straight double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs to help Stevens move to 5-6 on the year while New Paltz dropped to 5-6.

The Ducks did a lot of work at the service line in the win, posting a total of 10 service aces led by three from freshman Enkhsanaa Enkhbayar. Stevens has now won three of its last four contests and have more than doubled their win total in the last week.

In addition, with nine total blocks in the tournament Shelby Stewart moved into second place in program history in career kills. Stewart, a senior out of Powell, Ohio, now has 398 career blocks and sits just 31 away from setting the new school record.

  • "The team really came together and clicked today from top to bottom. We executed our game plan and scouting report well and rhythm with our offense."
  • "There were moments when a solid New Paltz team started chipping away at our leads, and I was happy with how we finished without question in the third. It was a very good way to end a challenging weekend going into another conference game."
