HOBOKEN, N.J. (Sept. 15, 2020) – The Stevens Athletic Department and the Department of Campus Recreation has announced a schedule update for usages of athletic facilities.
The Weehawken track will be open for all Stevens students to use Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. starting Monday, September 14 with the following rules:
- Anyone entering and exiting the park area must wear a mask and it may be removed during activity.
- Students must show their school ID to security at the gate if they would like to park their car at the facility while using the track.
- Early afternoons (1-3 or 4pm) also are light times at the park but groups of 10 runners or more are not permitted without a scheduled time.
No indoor athletic facilities are open at this time. A staff member will be present at the front desk of the Schaefer Athletic Center from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12 p.m.-5 p.m. on weekends starting Saturday, September 12. We are monitoring the pandemic conditions and state guidance closely and will assess our ability to open at limited capacity in the next several weeks.
Outdoor facilities on campus may be used for safe, socially distanced activities with face covers being worn at all times. The schedule is as follows:
DeBaun Field
9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday
12 p.m. – 5 p.m. on weekends starting Saturday, September 12
Stevens Tennis Courts
9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday-Friday
12 p.m. – 5 p.m. on weekends starting Saturday, September 12
Those students who are participating in on-campus learning have access to the tennis courts located by Castle Point Hall from 9am-5pm M-F and 12-5pm on Sat and Sun. Please note that the Stevens Athletics facility waiver mut be signed before the courts can be accessed through the swipe system and students can report to the Schaefer Center front desk during the same hours to complete the waiver. Those students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver.
As a reminder, only those students who are engaged in on-campus learning will have access to any of the athletic facilities this semester on campus. Those students, including all returning upperclassmen and graduate students living off campus, and first-year, new transfer students and new graduate students who have elected to be fully remote for the fall semester, will not have access until further notice.
These facility schedules will be reviewed over the next several weeks to determine whether or not changes will be made.
