HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 8, 2021)  – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's and women's track & field teams announced the indoor portion of their 2021-22 competition schedule Friday.

"It's been 19 months since our last indoor track & field meet at the All-Atlantic Regional Championships, and our team is excited at the prospect of resuming competition as a full group," said head coach Lance Harden. "Last spring, we had around 1/5 of our men and 1/2 of our women participate in outdoor track & field, so we will have plenty of new faces in our first-year and sophomore classes making their debuts. We'll also have several strong returners who were not on campus last year, and instead, used the time to study, work and train at home. As coaches, we're excited to see the progress that they've made, and to have a full calendar year to work with those that were here for a condensed spring season. We were thrilled with the performances last spring given the relatively little time to practice technical events."

The season gets underway on Dec. 3 when the multi-event student-athletes head to Lehigh University to compete in the Fast Times Before Finals Event. The remainder of the team will head to the New York City Armory one day later for the Indoor Opener, hosted by The College of New Jersey. The Ducks will make three trips to the iconic New York City venue, crossing the Hudson River on Jan. 15 for the Lions Indoor Invitational. which kicks off the second half of the schedule and then again on Feb. 4 for the NYC DIII Meet.

Stevens will get a preview of the conference championship venue on Jan. 22 at the Alvernia Winter Invitational at the Tom & Helen Flynn Complex, along with the Plex Shootout on Feb. 5. The venue will host the 2021 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship on Feb. 25-26, where the men's team will be looking to defend its 2020 championship.

"This year's schedule balances competition at the outstanding local banked tracks in NYC with trips to flat tracks that will serve as our conference and regional venues," Harden added.

The team heads north to close out the month of January, traveling to Rochester, New York for the Conference Challenge Cup, hosted by Nazareth College. The full team event takes place on Jan. 29, while the multi-event athletes will extend their stay for one extra day.

Following the NYC DIII Meet, the Ducks head north for the prestigious David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University on Feb. 11-12, which features some of the top collegiate student-athletes from across the country. While the track athletes are coming at the Valentine Invitational, the field athletes will compete in Williams College's "Field & Track" event on Feb. 12.

The Army West Point Tune Up takes place on Feb. 19 at West Point, before the Ducks turn their attention to the postseason. The conference championship meet will take place Feb. 25-26 in Reading, Pennsylvania before the Ducks return to Rochester on Mar. 4-5 for the All-Atlantic Region Indoor Championships.

The 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship will take place Mar. 11-12 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
