Erin Kreis (5-5) pitched a complete game shutout in the opener for her fifth win of the season and sophomore
Jessica Guerrero went a perfect 3 for 3 with an RBI in the nightcap.

Senior Erin Cabry and senior Rachel Pritchard each had a combined three hits over both games to lead the Colonels. Wilkes fell to 12-12 overall and 1-9 in MAC Freedom play with the two losses.

Fifth-year
Siobhan Cottell led the way in the first game of the day for Stevens. She went 3 for 4 at the plate and had an RBI. The game was scoreless through the first three innings until senior
Lexi Gregule knocked an RBI single into play to score Cottell. The Ducks added two more runs in the fifth, Guerrero and Cottell each brought in runs to give their team a 3-0 lead.

Neither side scored in the final two innings and Stevens started the day with a 3-0 win. Senior Rhia Aurand (2-4) was credited with the loss from the circle for the Colonels.

In the second game, the Ducks jumped out to an early 1-0 lead. Guerrero brought in home sophomore
Julia Baber on a sacrifice fly to get Stevens on the scoreboard. The Colonels answered in the bottom of the second. Pritcard made it home on a throwing error to tie the game 1-1.

The bats quieted until the bottom of the fifth when Wilkes took their first lead of the day. Senior Jessie Smith drove in a run to give the Colonels a 2-1 advantage. The lead did not last long as Stevens quickly added two more runs in the sixth. First-year
Emma Ruiz scored on a wild pitch and then Baber picked up an RBI single to make the score 3-2. Baber finished game 2 for 4 at the plate.

Kaitlin Smith (4-5) held the Colonels scoreless for the rest of the game and pitched a complete game to earn her fourth win of the season. Wilkes junior Hope Mullins (4-4) pitched five and two-thirds innings and was credited with the loss.

Stevens has now won four out of their last five games and sits in third place in the MAC Freedom standings.

Up Next: The Ducks return to action on Monday, April 18. They travel to Center Valley, Pa., for a conference doubleheader against DeSales. Game times are set for 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
